The quarry is a wonderful place to see Red-throated Bee-eaters which nest here, plus Exclamatory Paradise Whydah, Pin-tailed Whydah, Bush Petronia and many others which may visit to drink at the pool.

 

Bao Bolon Wetland Reserve

This is a huge protected area on the north bank of the river. In parts it passes close to the road and is obviously a great place to see a huge variety of water birds. Bao Bolon Wetland Reserve

The village of Tendaba is on the south bank of the river and is adjacent to Tendaba Camp. From here a huge number of great birding areas can be accessed. Boats allow access to the creek and African Finfoot may be seen and Goliath Heron, White-crested Tiger Heron, Hammerkop, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill and Abyssinian Roller are just some of the others to be found in this rich and diverse area. Tendaba

 

Kiang West National Park

Stretched along the south bank of the river this National Park consists mainly of dry woodland savannah but also includes mangroves, salt pans and tidal flats. With a species list of over 300 we would hope to see many raptors, Bee-eaters, Coursers, Hoopoes and Starlings.and many others! Kiang West National Park
